This weekend we decided to take the kids camping, a first for Finley. So of course we don't leave as early as we had planned (who is surprised by this?!) So after a few other setbacks, we arrive at our desired campsite to find that it is already full. Then we drive to our backup campsite to find that it is also full. This weekend looks like it is going down hill fast, the kids are starving and need to get out of the car. We decide to try one more spot, and if this doesn't work we are going home and camping in the backyard! We luckily find a great spot in a secluded area. We get the campsite set up and the kids are in heaven. Finley has all the rocks, dirt, and sticks he could eat, and Aubrie is eating as many marshmallows as she can. Everyone sleeps through the night, we do a little fishing in the morning, and head home. The kids are extremely dirty but very happy, I think I'll call this a successful first try.
